Nick's and Essy's  was the cherished home of Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Wachira Kariithi, a couple deeply devoted to God and their community. Their home was always filled with warmth, offering tea and pancakes to welcome friends and family, embodying a love story.Originally constructed in the 1930s by a white settler the house boasts a rustic yet elegant charm, with its stone structure reflecting a bygone era of lavish gatherings hosted by a lord and lady. The expansive lawn and majestic trees evoke memories of the past. After independence, the original owner left the country due to concerns for those who remained and sold the land, which changed hands multiple times before being acquired by the Kariithi family. Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Wachira Kariithi lovingly restored the house to its former glory.In 2016, the couple opened their home for exclusive events, mainly for close friends. However, the onset of COVID-19 in 2020 forced them to close the doors, and sadly, both passed away in 2021 due to illness.The home was inherited by their four daughters, who ultimately decided to carry on their parents' dream: Wangeci, Wairimu, Njoki, and Njeri. While the others pursued their own careers, Wairimu took on the role of custodian, dedicated to preserving the home and ensuring its sustainable development for future generations.
